General Information
Level:0-10 Season:September 1 — April 30 -
This is an interesting wave that works in a strong onshore wind, but it is a bit fickle and you need to check the weather carefully before making the effort to come here. It is just outside Plimmerton, and is suitable for surfers of all ability levels.
-
Beach
-
The beach is pebbly with the odd larger rocks thrown in for good measure. The area is generally quiet as far as surfing goes, but on the occasions when it goes off you might well find quite a few people out here. Water temperatures range between about 15 and 19° C in summer, and 11 and 14° C in winter.

Wind&Waves
-
This place is best when the cyclones swells are coming in, usually from late summer through to April. It works when there is a strong wind from the south, and a big swell from the north-west or west. It will start working at about 1 m, and hold up to a maximum of about 2.5 m. It's a beach break, both right and left, and is fairly average in terms of speed and power but it does have just enough are both to make for a fun day. The length on most days is short at around 50 m, but a good day can see that increase to 100 or even 150 m.
