General Information

Level:6-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

Situated at a southwesterly point on the beautiful island of Kos, lies the beach at Theologos. It is a popular spot with surfers and kite surfers of intermediate and expert abilities. It is not a good spot for beginners to practice because of the rock hazards just off the shoreline. It does get busy with tourists during the busy summer season and because of this, there may well be surfing restrictions in place, so you may want to check this out before you sett off. Having said this, the best times to surf are between May and September when the thermal breezes kick in.

Beach

Pebble/Shingle Gradual descent

The beach at Theologos is medium and is made up mainly of shingle and pebbles. To get here you need to drive westbound from Kefalos until you hit the coast, here you will see signs for the beach.

Wind&Waves

Wave spot Regular wind

The main wind direction here is northwest and this is also the best direction for surfing. During the summer the thermals start around noon and average somewhere between 4-6 bft. There is an 80-90 percent chance of wind during the summer months and the winter months have no regular wind patterns. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are small to medium waves pretty much all the time. The size of the waves are dependent upon wind speed and direction. The water temperature remains between 14-26 degrees so you may want to suit up accordingly.

Safety

Be aware of the rock hazard just off the shoreline and keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in the water during the busy summer months.
