Usedom Uekeritz is a lake spot situated on the Achtenwasser in the Naturepark Usedom of North East Germany. Beach
-
The beach is really a small grassy bank that leads straight into the water. This means that for kite surfers in particular, you will have to launch in the lake, however this shouldn’t be a problem as there is plenty of space. To get here you need to take the B111 to Ueckeritz and then follow the signs for the “Segelshule.” Drive down the street until you see a car park down by the harbor. You are here.

Wind&Waves
-
The winds here are frontal and predominantly westerly, or connotations thereof, especially from autumn through to spring. The wind speed hovers around 7-8 knots and is fairly consistent, but the summer months tend to have lighter breezes. The best winds are directed from the south, southwest and west, with a northwest and south east wind becoming gusty. The lake here is generally very flat, but can get choppy when the wind is strong. There is a large shallow area around 300 meters in width surrounding the whole coastline. Water temperatures can be anything up to 24 degrees in the summer months but drop down to between 5-7 degrees in the winter.

Facilities
-
Facilities here are very good as it is a popular water sport destination. There is a sailing school with a shop where you can purchase all your equipment. They also offer rental hire. There are shower and toilet facilities close at hand and food places are scattered along the shoreline. Nearby parking is also a bonus.

Safety
-
Beware when launching from the lake. Watch out for crowds particularly in high season and keep a look out for other sailing vessels.
