General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Playa de la Victoria is Cadiz's main beach and is in the new part of Cadiz. It is a popular beach with tourists since Cadiz's location, on a small peninsular, means that it never gets as hot as other parts of Andalusia. It is suited to surfers of all types and abilities and there is no real season here, since the mild climate lends itself to winter surfing, although a full wetsuit will be needed.
-
Beach
-
The beach is long and sandy and very packed in the summer with holiday makers. Surfers are best advised to come either side of June, July and August when the nearly constant winds make it a great spot. You can get here by heading for the new part of town which is just a short walk from the City center.
-
Wind&Waves
-
As with all of this coastline, the wind blows a lot of the time. The spot receives wind from a lot of different directions with NNW and SSE being sideshore. The average speed is around 8 knots throughout the year. The water is absolutely crystal clear and can be choppy or have some decent waves, depending on which wind is blowing and its strength. Spring, summer and autumn are all quite warm and sunny so you can get by without a wetsuit, but come the winter months, a full suit will be necessary.
-
Facilities
-
As this is the main beach there are plenty of shops, restaurants and beach side bars where you can get either a tapas or a full blown meal. It is extremely busy in the summer months, so be prepared to arrive really early or give it a miss until later in the year. Cadiz, itself is a fascinating city to walk around and there is plenty to see and do.

Safety
-
Watch out for crowds during the summer months.
