Situated on Spain's east coast not a million miles from the tourist resort of Benidorm lies the beach at Villajoyosa. It is a popular spot for kite and wind surfers of intermediate and expert levels. Beginners are not advised to practice here because of the strategically placed wave breakers and groynes dotted all along this stretch of coastline. This beach does get busy in the summer so kiting and wind surfing is not recommended during this time. The best times to surf are from October through to April, when the crowds have all but gone.
