General Information

Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

This laid back, easy spot might not be the most challenging in the world but it has a good atmosphere and is worth a look if you happen to be in the area, especially if you are a beginner wanting somewhere safe to practice.

Beach

The beach consists of a lot of soft, golden sand, its always clean and its fairly long too.  It doesn’t tend to attract too many surfers, so you might find a handful out at weekends and during the week it will be virtually deserted.  Water temperatures hit highs of around 21C in summer and lows of about 14C in winter.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

his beach doesn’t too badly when it comes to catching swells and wind, and will work with the wind from the northwest, west or southwest and the swell from the southeast, east or northeast.  It works at all tide positions, and on both rising and falling tides, with the swell starting up at less than 1m and rising to about 2.5m or so.  It’s a fairly average beach break, breaking left and right, and the waves are nothing special – no real power or speed, but still interesting enough if you find yourself here on a decent day.  The length is about average, with 50m being the usual kind of ride and 150m possible on the best days.

Facilities

Surf patrols cover the beach during the summer.  You don’t get much on the beach itself, but the town is close by and has a good range of places to stay, several restaurants and a shopping centre.

Safety

There aren’t any hazards here, it’s a good place to relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about your surroundings.
