General Information

Level:1-10 Season:December 1 — March 31

Unlike most of the other spots on Anegada, this one is exposed to fairly serious swells as well as good winds, and it produces some big waves.  Although you need to be experienced to handle it when it really goes off, at other times it’s just an ordinary wave spot that will appeal to surfers, kitesurfers and windsurfers of all ability levels.

Beach

Sand

This beach consists of fine white sand and there is loads of space as the island is only lightly populated and not a huge tourist destination.  The climate is tropical, warm all year round although it can be unsettled in summer, and you can expect the water temperature to be in the high 20’s all the time.

Wind&Waves

Wave spot

December to April is the best time to come here, when the winds blow at over 20 knots pretty reliably.  They come from the northeast mostly, but almost any direction will work.  Outside winter, the winds are a little lighter at 12 – 18 knots and less consistent.   The swells here have built up over thousands of miles of ocean before hitting this island, and as result they can get quite big.  You’ll frequently find waves that exceed 4m in height in winter, and the rest of the year they will be between 1m and 3m.  The big waves are heavy, so take care.

Facilities

There are no facilities here, so bring anything you might need.  Either fly in to the small airstrip from Antigua, or better still come on a boat that takes you right to the spot.

Safety

Rips/undertows Underwater obstacles

Check out the surf forecast before coming out here, and only attempt it if the wave height is within your ability range.
