Wilhelmshaven is an ocean spot with fairly consistent conditions, It is used by surfers, and windsurfers alike, however because of its sporadic gusty wind , it is not recommended for kitesurfers. This spot is best in the spring and autumn as the beach can get packed with tourists in the height of the summer.

Beach

Wilhelmshaven offers a long sandy clean beach which can be tidal so for best surfing conditions avoid 2 hours either side of low tide, Finding it couldn't be simpler. Just follow the signs for the south beach once in Wilmeshaven and park directly at the beach.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

Wilmeshaven gives a frontal wind, with the main body coming from a westerly direction. Average windspeed is around 14 knots with a 50% probability. The best winds are from autumn to spring, although summer can bring about some nice north easterly's but not very often. The water tends to be shallow, and the condition is flat to choppy. The quality of the water can also be a little cloudy. Water temperatures average at around 15 degrees celsius in the summer, but can get pretty cold in the winter, down to just 2-3 degrees so it is advisable to suit up accordingly.

Facilities

There isn't really a lot at the spot itself, however the town of Wilhelmshaven (only a very short drive away) has bars, shops, restaurants and accommodation.

Safety

Watch out for crowds, especially in the summer time and beware of swimmers. Not recommended for kite surfers!
